Urmila Mukhtar Jeny currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design and Technology (FDT) at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Bangladesh. Urmila Mukhtar Jeny completed her Masters of Science in Fashion Design (MFD) from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology and completed MBA in Product & Fashion Merchandising from Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. She has completed her Bachlor of Science in Fashion Design & Technology from BGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology in Fashion Design & Technology (BIFT) .
Urmila Mukhtar Jeny joined the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) in 2014. Before joining here she worked as a designer in Design and product Development department at RMG sector. She is working as a former member of Sexual Harassment Committee along with former member of proctorial committee at BUFT. Besides that, she is a advisor of BUFT Fashion Club.

Urmila Mukhtar Jeny has about Twelve (12) years of experience in the field of industry, teaching and research. Her expertise includes are Flat Pattern Making, Fashion Figure Illustration, Pattern Grading, Design process, Product Development, Collection Development, Fashion Portfolio and E- Fashion.
